Brunelleschi's Hoist

Sculptor and architect Filippo Brunelleschi (1377 - 1476), invents a hoisting machine with pulleys to assist masons with carrying materials to new heights. This engineering innovation greatly improves the construction of buildings, cathedrals, and villas.
