Luther's Theses

To protest the Catholic Church's abuses of power, Martin Luther, professor of theology at the Univ. of Wittenberg (Germany), posts 95 theses on a church door in Wittenberg. He sought debate on matters of practice and doctrine, hoping to reform the Church from within, but his actions, along with those of many others disenchanted with the Church, led to the Protestant Reformation.
