Around the World

Fernano de Magalhaes (Magellan), a Portuguese sailor, seeks a navigable route to link the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean. He is killed in 1521 but one of his lieutenants, Juan Sebastian Del Cano, continues the voyage and eventually travel completely around the world, marking the first circumnavigation of the globe by a human being in 1522.
