Glorify God: Madonna and Child

Bishop

Jester In fact, tempera paint was fast fading in popularity by now. Once artists figured out how to paint in oils, most of them switched without a glance backwards. Gold leaf fared poorly too, as artists decided that it was a greater feat to capture the appearance of gold with paint than to take the easy (but expensive) route and use real gold itself. And that way, the money goes to the artist instead of the gilder!

Excellent. A portrait of the Madonna and Child in classic tempera and gold leaf. Now we just need an artist to make the picture! Who shall we hire?
