Science and Technology
The development of the moveable-type printing press in 1434 is but one advancement in science and technology that defines the Renaissance as a period of exceptional innovation. Significant inventions and advancements were made in mathematics, textiles, physics, anatomy, experimental science, architecture, medicine, visual arts, warfare, and cartography among other fields. Great thinkers with multiple talents eventually gave rise to specializations, as individuals became focused on specific areas of study in an effort to further advance their knowledge.
